The Band

after searching and searching, i finally found the perfect band for the wedding! it was really important to ken and i to have a band that we loved, considering how much music plays an important role in both our lives. it seemed every band we contacted was either too tacky, too expensive, or just not our style. We really wanted a particular kind of jazz that was popular in the early 1900's, a type of music that we have both bonded over. At last, we found this: http://www.nightbloomingjazzmen.com/. Isn't that a great quote? I am still trying to get Ken to wear a bow tie. There are so many amazing ones out there at places like j.crew, american apparel, and urban outfitters. (I would get 40% with my employee discount!) Even etsy has some really interest, vintage bow ties that would be a great fashion statement at the wedding. Mom and I might just resort to trying to make our own. At luminaclothing.com, they will custom amake bow-ties for you, which is something to consider. There are also some great ones at brooks brothers and ben silver. Maybe we can still get some for all the little boys.

My Shoes

I got my shoes in the mail and they are way cute. they are the

"seychelles" brand, which has an assortment of reallllly cute shoes if you want to check em' out. i looked all over for a lace-up oxford that would be summery and not too high. these matched the bill.

I Love The Deals!

I am SO excited, I found my jewelry today wayyyyyy marked down at J. Crew. They have the most beautiful pieces that really make a statement and are a bit pricey. BUT as I was rummaging through the sale section, my eye caught a beautiful sparkling pair of earrings that were marked down from over $100 to $16.99! I decided today, as a rule of thumb, that no matter what, I always feel better about purchases when I get a deal. Ken was a trooper and put up with me being so indecisive. I really wanted a stack of funky bracelets and some killer earrings...i can't find the items i purchased online, but here is a few that resemble the ones i got.

i have been trying to find some killer red shoes. i think these fit the bill. i'm thinking it would be cute if all of the girls wore red shoes. it's one thing i think everyone would love to have and would wear again. and these steve madden shoes go up to size 11...

Flower Girl Dresses

I've been browsing around for some cute dresses for all the little girls, and i must say it has been fun. I am sure you guys know better then me the cute brands. All that seems to come to mind to me is TJ Maxx brands...for obvious reasons. These are just a few ideas. i think with our own flair (and the right color) these could be adorable.

this dessert bar is making my mouth water...i like the notecards in calligraphy, stating what each thing is. i am hoping to do something similar, except maybe with all red and white desserts...mmmm

Boutinnieres and Buttons

FLOWERS

After working at a florist, i think i am going to be pretty particular about my flowers...i love flowers so much, i wish i could spend all of my money on them, but they will just wilt and die so it would be a waste. The flowers i want in my bouquet may not be in bloom, none the less if i could have it my way, my bouquet would be full of all RED: peonies, ranunculus, anemones, dahlias. I want it loose and wild just like me, haha more like some flemmish still life. As far as my bridesmaids and boutinnieres, i am considering maybe buttons, or felt/fabric flowers. Though, i am in love with the yellow pom pom flower. as for the table settings, i want just a bunch of different wild flowers in some eclectic containers or vases. the striped ribbon is a must. and gotta love the black and white anemones.
